Crispy Tofu
Why This Recipe?
They're a delicious addition to many recipes or served as a side. They work great in salads, fried rice, curry, pad thai, or served beside some roast brussels sprouts or steamed asparagus. They're quite versatile and can be eaten alone as a finger food snack.
Ingredients
- 1 block extra-firm tofu
- 1 tbsp oil
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
Instructions
Drying the Tofu
- Drain the tofu.
- Dice into half inch cubes.
- Line cutting board with paper towel.
- Arrange tofu cubes on cutting board in a single layer.
- Sandwich with paper towel and second cutting board.
- Apply weight on top of cutting board sandwich using heavy cans or jars.
- Leave to dry for 1 hour.
Baking the Tofu
- Preheat oven to 400℉.
- Line baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl combine tofu, oil, soy sauce, and cornstarch. Gently mix until evenly coated.
- Arrange tofu in a single layer on baking sheet.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, tossing halfway, until golden brown.
